Anupriya

Anupriya Madhumita Lakra, the pioneer and the passionate affair from the tribal community of Oraon in Odisha wanted to come out of her traditional shackles. Born in 1992 in Malkangiri, she set her heart to become a pilot, something that she dreamed of as a child. She had done her engineering; however, that was not what she wanted in life. She switched her entire career toward aviation, which proved that one's history does not limit one's ambitions.

Anupriya

Anupriya initially chose an engineering school for her higher studies but soon realized her calling was in aviation only. She dropped out of engineering in mid-course to get into the Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) at Bhubaneswar in 2012. It is her perseverance and resolve that took her to accomplish her dream-paragon of the spirit which never gives.

Pilot

Anupriya became the first tribal girl from Odisha to turn into a commercial pilot. She became a co-pilot in a private airline in 2019 which is a big milestone for her. Thus, she is a pride and inspiration for the state in a journey that attests the possibility of being determined and hard-working.

Anupriya

The feat of Anupriya really became an international event with accolades pouring in, even the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha appreciated for her achievement. Commercial pilot A few will not be appreciated becoming a huge inspiration for young girls, particularly in marginalized groups, encouraging them to "shoot high even if society wants them to stay low".

Anupriya's story will likely always be delivered as a powerful testimony of how courage and conviction will help you to overcome all odds. It has already inspired many other young women whom she tells of how their dreams can come true through passion and commitment, irrespective of their background.
