short description
This particular leg protector was fashioned of black cotton fabric, very durable, and sober in grace to match many other traditional Naga garments. It is made of two pieces— fitted individually around every leg. These are worn not only for protection while hunting or in combat training but also as cultural identity during festivals and public occasions. An important characteristic of these leg protectors is that they are fitted on both ends with splits of bamboo. While these strips provide structure and help hold the leg guards in position, they surely add their own charm in terms of texture and visual appeal.

The leg guards are further embellished with rows of cowrie shells, shells that are, in traditional societies of Naga tribes, an embodiment of wealth, spiritual significance, and beauty. The alignment of these shells into neat rows adds a degree of ornamentation that adorns the leg guards with statements of prestige and tribal pride. These cotton leg guards epitomize the fusion of use and art that the Naga tribes expertly apply to all garments and the symbolism by which each channel represents their intense culture
