The arrow itself consists of a reed shaft and presents the typical slender, needle-shaped iron arrowhead useful for precision hunting. The lower end of the shaft by the fletching with feathers generates aerodynamic stability for rectilinear flight. A special ridge at the end of the shaft means to keep the arrow on the bowstring, exemplifying a judicious blend of form and function. Arrow Iron represents the indigenous knowledge of the Santal tribes, buildups over many generations, and their capability to make efficient tools from the woods. Even today, it serves as a symbol of self-respect, artistry, and a way of life in harmony with the forests.
