The traditional leather shoes of the Shan community, a place in Arunachal Pradesh and some parts of its neighboring states, which is rich and highly specialized in culture and craft. These shoes are made entirely by hand using natural leather and value more on the durability factor as well as design. The most notable thing with these shoes is the off-white leather piped sewn onto the upper surface for decorative and reinforcing purposes.

The soles of the shoes are made from thick and layered leather put together with leather strips stitches to ensure durability and also a very resistant to rough-toughness conditions under which they might subject soles. These shoes demonstrate the practicality of daily living combined with the aesthetics of the Shan people. This kind of footwear was often worn for ceremonies, journeys, and everyday use, affording such shoes a protective and identity-defining status. The materials and manner of construction used indicate profound knowledge of traditional methods of tanning and stitching, handed down through generations.
