Mr. Jodhai Lobha, an elderly and venerable person, among the chief personalities in the preservation of the living musical heritage of Mizoram. He now understands that, as an influential person within the Mizo Tribe, modernization and the contemporary music global trend pose a serious threat to the survival of the traditional folk songs of the Mizo. Therefore, he founded the Mizo Culture Artists Association to promote not just Mizo folk songs but also the cultural enrichment of the Mizo people.

The hill regions in northeastern India, in which the Mizo Tribe lives, are endowed with rich tradition, with folk songs that have been passed down over generations. It marks the occasion of festivals and rituals and includes important social gatherings, which is rich in meaning that runs deep into cultural and spiritual dimensions of the tribe. The main agenda of Mr. Lobha's association is to provide a platform for artists, musicians, and all practitioners of culture to come and perform for the present generation to let them learn the importance of Mizo folk music.This is where Mr. Jodhai Lobha opens up channels for Mizo folk songs to actually survive through generations and to come to learn and appreciate what was a huge chunk of their culture. His efforts towards the preservation of these practices of theirs definitely turn the wheels forward in identity as far as the Mizo Tribe is concerned in present times.
