This tribe possesses skills in bamboo weaving. A conical bamboo basket which according to their material culture is a defining artifact, is typically used by women in Khyang while sowing paddy. This bamboo basket is one of the important agri-tools, well made and passes generation to generation orally. Some interesting facts regarding its construction are as follows this upper part of the basket has a coarse weaving of bamboo strips which provides strength and shape to the basket while the lower part and whole bottom of the basket is made of thin strips, giving flexibility and tight storage of seeds. Even though sturdy, this basket is very useful in agriculture and is quite sufficient within agricultural operations especially in the hilly regions where sufficient crops are grown by the Khyang.
