Folk Dance
description
The opening number was Gawari, the dance of the Bhil tribe-men in an elaborate dance drama performed in honor of the Goddess Gavari or Gauri. This male performance is mythological and ritualistic dance specific to Bhil's community. Then came followed by Gawari and the dance from the Gujjar community of Kishangarh. Women dance to rhythms of the pots, which they carry on their heads with a lighted lamp place inside the pot. It is a delicate balanced performance in showing the grace of being able to balance the fire and pot while one dances.

Bhil Tribe Folk Dance
description
The ending of the programme was the colorful Terah Taali folk dance-one of the most popular Rajasthani dances. The Dhrohar program served as a good platform for showcasing the life-as represented by different performing art forms-of Rajasthan and, at the same time, raised a lot of issues regarding the need to pass on all such traditional cultural practices to future generations.
