It is one of the wooden smoking pipes which form a great cultural artifact of the Naga tribe. The wooden smoking pipe is an indigenous community that mainly occupies the Indian state of Nagaland, with parts of Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. This handcrafted tobacco pipe, made up entirely of wood, exhibits the very skill of a community in its traditional craftsmanship. It has a head that is cylindrical and a body that curves, keeping in mind the ease of usage. At the end of this wooden structure, there is a short, narrow bamboo piece inserted into it to enhance the airflow and functionality. The end of the pipe is also going to be made decorative with plaited cane strips for both aesthetic and durability value.

Smoking is an age-old practice of the Naga people. It is associated with their social interactions, relaxation, and rituals of the community. Commonly, the elders of the community smoke these pipes using locally cultivated tobacco or herbal mixtures, which they consider a connection with nature and their indigenous practices.

This smoking pipe is not a utility object only. It also serves as a cultural symbol denoting the Naga tribe's craftsmanship and the sustainable use of natural materials in day-to-day life.
