short description
Denga would have been a traditional wooden bowl used by the Rabha tribe that comes with a handle by which they depended on doing household works like preparing or serving the food. The object rendered a single piece out of wood, so it reflects the traditional knowledge of woodworking and their less functional design idiom dominating the tribe. The bowl has its shallow-smooth dent perfect enough to contain semi-solid or dry materials. A handle is stretching out short at one side so that it could be used very easily during when manipulating. The Denga sometimes plays as a small mortar, usually used for grinding spices, herbs, or preparing some local mixtures to use in cooking or medicine practice daily. Having multi functionality and a stronger structure shall bear testimony to the fact that the Rabha community has practically treated their daily tools.

Of course, the material which is local hardwood will be not only for eternal use but would also keep in harmony with the environment-the very signature of makeup and workmanship in traditional tribes. The bowl is, therefore, strong in idea and form, representing the Rabha-understandings in use, sustainability, and cultural identity.
