Side note that square stone paperweights-the paperweight is a very good craft item made by the Santal tribe of Odisha, which is a prominent indigenous community in the easternmost part of India. It is a paperweight, functioning as a real object to hold papers, as well as an excellent manifestation of the craftsmanship and artistry of the Santal community. This dorsal surface headline of the paperweight is beautifully carved in relief work by way of relief work and in it features a very fine flower symbol with four petals. A four-petaled flower was chosen to symbolize something and this mostly means the peace and harmony of nature-what the Santal live upon. The relief carving speaks highly and lingers long in the minds of his patrons in terms of skill as well as the attention to every little detail, the connection of the artisans towards nature and their cultural beliefs is portrayed.

The lower surface of the paperweight is flat and enhances stability when placed on a surface so that it serves its purpose well in holding paper in place and also beautifying the environment. A stone has been used, thus again proves that the tribespeople quarry and use local things for creating such useful and artistic items. This stone paperweight is not a mere utility item, but a part of an entire heritage, reflecting the richness of culture possessed by the Santal tribe. It shows their proficiency in traditional crafts and reflects the cultural heritage of the Santal tribe. Such Artefacts are eventually stored not only for their artistic value but also for being a token of cultural heritage and an acknowledgement of the trade in that specific region, where tribals are found along the coasts of Odisha.
