short description
Square basket has been a traditional handiwork that has most been utilized by Adi, a tribe of northeastern India. The Adi are very good people of weaving fine techniques with local materials, and this basketlike mini square kash carries such skills.Made from split bamboo, the design is square, with a circular opening on top. Compact, yet practical, it demonstrates how implement design can be too simple for any tribal existence, yet very useful for the simple chores necessary to daily life. The rim of the basket is reinforced with strips of bamboo, which work towards making it durable. It can handle wear and tear that comes with normal operation to perform the functions intended for the basket.

The square basket has two tiny cane handles, responsively attached to the rim, to lift and maneuver. These handles give some advantage to the basket; however, they also accentuate the beauty of the artifact, manifesting its utilities as much as its aesthetic viewing experience on the part of the artisan. The basket is majorly used by Adi women to help the spindle while spinning cotton. Spindle using the basket helps in the convenient process of spinning cotton. It is a traditional art representing the deep cultural practices and sustainable natural resources of the Adi Tribe.
