The round pad has at its core a tightly coiled straw that creates the firm base. This is wrapped completely in cloth, coiled with twisted rope over it for strength and comfort. The surface is ornately decorated with cowrie shells-the age-old symbols of prosperity, protection, and femininity in tribal belief systems. The head accessory is mainly donned by women during wedding ceremonies. It serves as a supportive cushion while increasing visual aesthetics to an event with fine art works. It represents the Lambadi community's vibrant culture where every ritualistic object has spiritual and symbolic meaning.
