These encasings are shaped within the length and breadth to equalize the weight usually worn along with a strap across the back or shoulder, allowing the load carrier to transport firewood, grains, or forest produce for considerable lengths. Not only these load carriers are functional, but they are also environment friendly, sustainable products, demonstrating how the tribe relates to nature. The artifact is maintained in the Indian Museum, Kolkata, characteristic of indigenous knowledge systems that have evolved to use minimal biodegradable materials to solve daily problems.
