short description
There is a deep and rich cultural heritage around their traditional garments. The traditional garments of the tribe, of which the cotton wrapper with red borders is a splendid example of the craftsmanship as well as cultural motifs that reflect the identity of the people. This wrapper is made from dark indigo blue cotton cloth, which is a color that many Naga tribes believe represents strength and bondage to the earth. The addition of red at the edges has made it sharp enough to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the garment. The color red in Tangkhul Naga culture is often associated with vitality and energy, with power, and the festive significance, making this a very effective portion added onto the cloth

The color red in Tangkhul Naga culture is often associated with vitality and energy, with power, and the festive significance, making this a very effective portion added onto the cloth.
Woven on both ends of the wrapper are plaited red and white threads illustrating the mini ingenuity, power, and capability of the fine art--the textile weaving. These not only create a design but also construct texture and dimensional aspects along the very rich craft of ancestry. They are finished at the ends with fringes of cotton thread, granting the garment movement and fluidity. These fringes provide a function making it durable, ensuring that the cloth stays tied around the waist of the wearer. This cotton wrapper with red borders is a beautiful encapsulation of the traditional weaving tradition of the Tangkhul Naga tribe, integrated both in their cultural ethos and in their nature, phenomenally made to be worn them, mainly during the occasions of festivals, rituals, and one among the daily usage effects
